Norman Pattiz Releases the Findings of Studies on Podcast Advertising Involving Five Leading National Brands

Early in February 2017, Norman Pattiz, the executive chairman of PodcastOne, accompanied by Tom Webster, the VP of Strategy at Edison Research, announced the results of a new podcast research. They were derived from a series of extensive studies focusing on the outcomes of advertising tests with five leading national consumer brands across five various service and product selections. The initial study was undertaken throughout the last half of last year. It indicated the positive impact of podcast advertising on recall of specific messaging, intent to purchase and brand recall.

Edison Research, the company charged with conducting the research, carried out three distinct studies in2016 on PodcastOne’s behalf. The studies sought to evaluate the usefulness of podcast advertising for five countrywide brands. In all the studies, online surveys of listeners or audiences of some top podcasts were conducted before and after the podcast advertising campaigns for each brand ran.

Each of the five brands enjoyed 4-6 weeks airplay on the various podcasts, as well as a similar methodology in all cases. On the other hand, the findings showed that the audiences were receptive to the brand messages. They also indicated a rise in the willingness to purchase or/and consider either of the brands.

Norman Pattiz cited that PodcastOne has always tried to ascertain that the podcast advertising format offers enhanced brand impact, which surpasses conventional advertising methods. He also emphasized that the results obtained approved the company’smulti-tiered approach to both integrated advertising and measurement.
